July 8, 2023 a rainy Sunday, became another successful day distributing food bags to homeless men and women across Central Arkansas. Mylah Smith and Chelsea Martinez passed out bags filled with Chicken Wraps, potato chips, Quaker Oats snack bars, and fruit cups. The bag also had hand sanitizing wipes and individually packaged hand sanitizer to ensure sanitation before eating.
The Chicken Wrap Bags were distributed throughout parts of Downtown Little Rock and the North Little Rock area. These bags were assembled Saturday, July 7, 2023 by Mylah Smith, Chelsea Martinez, Dayonna Mitchell and Brenda Onyekwele. Each bag also received a personalized, handwritten card with Words of Encouragement, Bible Scriptures and Affirmations. The bags were then distributed Sunday, July 8th by Mylah Smith, Chelsea Martinez, Joshua Davis, and Officer Tommy Norman.
Alongside distributing bags, Mylah and Chelsea were interviewed by Officer Tommy Norman on the start-up of the organization including the "why" and expressing their compassion and empathy for less fortunate Arkansans. When she was asked "why are you doing this?" she responded with the following:
"Some people need things more than we do and don't have anything and I would love to pay it forward to someone who actually needs it."
Chelsea Martinez followed behind after being asked "how was this organization started" by saying:
"I saw a post from Mylah on Instagram about wanting to donate waters [to the homeless] and I replied and we came together to serve the community."
